• 1925 Crossley 14HP Vintage 15/30 Tourer

• Chassis Number | 28840

These vehicles were built in Manchester, England and imported to Australia. This version had an Australian made body (no. 3407) fitted by Properts of Sydney. The vehicle’s specs can be seen in a photo of the banner that was used whenever the car was displayed.

The car was purchased by my late father as a complete, but unrestored vehicle, in 1978 and over the following 10 years underwent a ground up, nuts and bolts restoration in time for the 1988 Castrol Australian Bi-centennial Rally.

The sale includes numerous spares, including one spare hood bow, a spare carburettor, gearbox, diff centre, engine blocks (upper and lower), camshaft, brake shoes, leaf spring packs x4, etc. Also included is the matching luggage chest that can be carried on the folding rack behind the rear mounted spare wheel. Side weather curtains are still stored safely behind the rear seat. The car has matching chassis and engine numbers. Also included is a photo-copied version of the original 15/30 Owners Manual.

The car hasn’t been started since before my father’s passing, and the spare wheel no longer holds air. It is now 30 years older since its restoration, and although it has been garaged since 1978, it is probably now in need of a cosmetic make-over.

It has unfortunately sustained some upholstery damage on both sides of the rear seat whilst stored for the past 5 years.

At 93 years old, this vehicle is a beautifully preserved and complete piece of automotive motoring history.

The car is located on northside of Brisbane (Brendale), Queensland.
